are transported in cell?
(post on Sep.19,
2008)
Our journal club at
this weekend (Sep. 26, 2008) will discuss basic questions such as "How
cargoes are transported in cells?", and "How motor proteins interact
with cytoskeleton?". Many research findings have been published in cargo
transporting area. A mini-review by
Jennifer L Ross, M Yusuf Ali and David M Warshaw was
published on Current Opinion in
Cell Biology in early 2008.
Ying He, a graduate student at the Sperm Laboratory will interpret this review for us.

To enhance exchange and
communication between our laboratory and other related laboratories in
Zhejiang University, our future journal club and seminars which use
English as language will be open to all colleagues and students. Our 1st
open journal club will be presented by Mr.
Da-Hui Wang, a 2007 graduate
student who majors in Cell Biology. The paper he will interpret is from
Dr. Ann O. Sperry's laboratory, which was published recently on BMC Cell
Biology, 2008, 9:9 doi:10.1186/1471-2121-9-9, by Rong Wang and Ann O
Sperry. The title of this paper is "Identification of a novel Leucine-rich
repeat protein and candidate PP1 regulatory subunit expressed in
developing spermatids". If you want to join our journal club,
