Study Club hold: Kinesin functions during spermatogenesis (June 2, 2006, 20:10)
The functions of kinesin during mammalian spermatogenesis was discuss on today's
study club. The kinesins which are expressed in testis and their functions were 
reviewed by Hong-Shan Dong.

What is the role of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) during 
spermiogenesis and sperm maturity process? How about the  FA
composition in immature germ cells (IGC) and mature germ 
cells (MGC)? New topic of our Study Club

proteins (FABPs) and mechanisms of fatty acid transportation during spermato-
-genesis will be discuss in our Study Club of this week. This topic is based on two
papers which were published on Journal of Cell Science [2005, 118(14): 3027-35]
and  J. Appl. Genet [2006, 47 (1): 39-48].This Study Club is scheduled on April

Our group meeting and study club are scheduled on April 13, 2006, at 15:30.

will present on the study club. His topic is "The cytoskeleton, kinesin and
spermatogenesis" which is based on a BOR paper "The Molecular motor KIFC1
  associates with a complex containing nucleoporin NUP62 that is regulated during
  development and by the small GTPase RAN

The paper "Comparative study of cytoplasmic actin DNA sequences from six species of
Planorbidae   (Gastropoda: Basommatophora)" will be presented by Xiang Xiao on Jan. 6, 
2006, 2:00pm, at Conference Room of Xixi Northern Campus. This paper was published
on J. Moll.Stud. recently. All graduate students in the Sperm Laboratory need to attend the
study club, teachers and students from other laboratories are welcome.

       Evening:   Meet professors of College of Life Sciences, talk about the biological educational situation
                            in USA.

May 22 (Sunday)
       Morning:  Preparation of Histology class, show Wan-Xi how to do the preparation.
       Afternoon, go to Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University, which is located beside the        
                        West Lake. Will visit the related labs. Accompanied by Wan-Xi and Liu

May 23 ( Monday)
        Morning and afternoon: Preparing for Histology lecture : totally three chapters,
                                               cartilage, bone and blood. Work together with Wan-Xi.
        Night time(6:30-9:30): Lecture for college students (about 100 students)

May 24 (Tuesday)

      Morning: Visit Zhejiang University campus (Huajiachi and Xixi campus), including labs in Huajiachi
                       campus and meet the PIs of related labs. Accompanied by

s a  part of the International Cooperation Project between China and Portugal governments, Dr.
Antonina dos Santos visited Zhejiang University during Oct.18 to Oct. 29 of  2002. She gave a seminar
titled "Decapod larval studies in Portugal: taxonomy and ecology". After six-day's visit to Zhejiang
University, she started out to Wenzhou City and Ningbo City, where she visited Wenzhou Teachers'
College and Ningbo University. Here was the visiting agenda.
